Archana Muppala recently contacted me for arranging for a photoshoot for her family who were visiting from India . We planned the shoot for today and was at the wheeler historic farm in sandy Utah . Soumya Mupalla , Archana’s sister-in-law was also present for the photo shoot and was pretty excited for the photoshoot .Her mom told me that she loves being photographed and had an interest in photography . I took some nice portraits for her and they turned amazing . . She works for Yahoo bangalore and had a great time taking her pictures .And her charm in the face really made me remember my cousin sisters back in India .

Mike Parsons , my friend at work , informed me that Nick Vujicic will be visiting Salt lake city for speaking at a public meeting . For those who have never heard of Nick Vujicic :

“Nick Vujicic (born 4 December 1982) is a preacher, a motivational speaker and the director of Life Without Limbs, an organization for the physically disabled. He regularly gives speeches across subject of disability and hope.”

Nick Vujicic , is always an inspiration for me . I make it a point to share his videos to my friends who feel unsuccessful in life or sometimes looks life negatively. I never thought that I will be able to photograph this little man who is full of motivation and energy .

In December 2009 , I visited  India for three main reasons – to visit my close & dear ones , to get engaged and to attend my cousin sister’s (Anju Narayanan – who is really close to me)  wedding.  And I took that opportunity to take plenty of pictures at Anju’s wedding.
As a usual custom in our Hindu religion, the bride visits the temple a day before her wedding and prays for the blessings from the almighty for a prosperous married life ahead. I decided to accompany her with the official wedding photographer that day and captured some candid portraits. So here are some of the pictures of my sweet sister Anju (now officially Anju Jyothish ) shot  at the Payyanur Subrahmanya Swami temple , which is situated at the northern part of Kerala state in India.

I was glad this dancer accepted my request for posing for me after the Utah Indian cultural center program , held at the City library a few weeks back . Also she was pretty smart to ask me how to pose and started posing some dance forms in Mohiniyattam .Congratulating the dancer for a great performance and wishing her all the best for the future .

The Utah-Indian cultural center celebrated the Diwali festival at the Utah city library . I was truly lucky to attend the wonderful function and capture some Kerala folklore dance forms . The function reminded me the days in my native state ‘Kerala’ ( India ) and they just made me feel I was in India . I congratulate the dancers and performers who brought these unique art forms to the beautiful state of utah.And the people behind the cultural center who made this function a success . I will be posting the pictures of different categories so that my friends from Utah see our colorful culture . Look out for the subsequent posts from the Utah Indian cultural center program .
