Utah India Mela 2010 photo booth pictures

Recently at a birthday party I met Dev Avasarala and Sanjay Sharma who wanted me to help them in their fund raising event for India Cultural Center (ICC Utah). The ICC were planning to conduct an India mela where individuals would put up stalls / booth for food , mehendi , fun stuff etc .I decided to help them in setting up a photo booth for portraits , charging 10$ for two portraits (8 X 10 prints ) .

I rented the studio equipments from Pixels and frames and setup a whole studio at the booth . 22 groups came to my studio and I was able to raise near to 220 $ for the organization . Check out some of the pictures taken at my booth .

Tips & Setup details
When you have studio lighting setup , I always shoot at Manual mode with F6 – f 9 and a shutter speed of 1 / 160- 1 / 250 with respect to the distant of the lights and the subject .

Archana Muppala recently contacted me for arranging for a photoshoot for her family who were visiting from India . We planned the shoot for today and was at the wheeler historic farm in sandy Utah . Soumya Mupalla , Archana’s sister-in-law was also present for the photo shoot and was pretty excited for the photoshoot .Her mom told me that she loves being photographed and had an interest in photography . I took some nice portraits for her and they turned amazing . . She works for Yahoo bangalore and had a great time taking her pictures .And her charm in the face really made me remember my cousin sisters back in India .

The Utah-Indian cultural center celebrated the Diwali festival at the Utah city library . I was truly lucky to attend the wonderful function and capture some Kerala folklore dance forms . The function reminded me the days in my native state ‘Kerala’ ( India ) and they just made me feel I was in India . I congratulate the dancers and performers who brought these unique art forms to the beautiful state of utah.And the people behind the cultural center who made this function a success . I will be posting the pictures of different categories so that my friends from Utah see our colorful culture . Look out for the subsequent posts from the Utah Indian cultural center program .
